The Commercial P&C Producer is a faith-aligned and results-driven sales professional responsible for prospecting and developing relationships with decision-makers, administrators, and boards within religious and nonprofit organizations for the distribution of commercial insurance accounts for the distribution of GuideStone’s proprietary P&C product, direct carrier appointments or brokered markets. This role requires exceptional relationship-building capabilities, comprehensive P&C knowledge, and the ability to assess client needs and deliver tailored insurance solutions and risk management reviews. Producers serve as trusted, strategic advisors to ministry partners and collaborate with internal teams and carrier partners to grow a profitable book of business. They serve as the primary growth engine, maintaining accountability for annual production targets while delivering prospects ready for seamless handoff to the operations team.
What You'll Need
Lead Generation & Prospecting:
Execute comprehensive prospecting strategies across multiple channels (e.g., existing clients, referrals, program channels, target leads, outbound contacts, etc.)
Conduct discovery meetings to assess pain points, insurance needs, coverage gaps, and decision-making processes
Develop and execute account-based marketing strategies for key prospect targets
Leverage internal CRM tools and sales intelligence platforms to optimize prospecting efficiency
Evaluate inbound leads to ensure alignment with agency underwriting criteria and market availability, prioritizing opportunities that contribute to profitable new business growth.
Collect and analyze required underwriting inputs—including exposure data, operational details, and loss history—to support precise and complete carrier submissions.
Proposal Development & Presentation:
Collaborate with internal teams to prepare and provide insurance marketing materials, applications, quotes, and proposals.
Conduct risk assessments and coverage reviews tailored to the unique exposures of religious and nonprofit organizations.
Create and deliver targeted proposals to the ministry, developing compelling value propositions that differentiate the agency’s capabilities and carrier relationships and detailing coverage, limits, deductibles, and pricing.
Market Intelligence & Carrier Relations:
Stay current on market conditions, carrier appetite changes, regulatory changes, and emerging coverage needs through ongoing education and events
Maintain expertise in specialized markets and industry segments
Client Transition & Handoff:
Manage sales cycle from initial contact through binding, maintaining detailed opportunity tracking
Execute seamless account transition to Account Management team upon binding, providing comprehensive client background, preferences, and service expectations
Attend key industry engagements, including conferences, conventions, and other events as needed.
What You'll Need
Bachelor’s degree and/or minimum 2-5 years of sales experience, P&C sales experience preferred.
Valid Property & Casualty (P&C) License preferred; Excess & Surplus Lines (E&S) License preferred. Candidates not currently licensed must be able to obtain all required licenses within 60 days of hire.
Active state of residence Property and Casualty license and the ability to be licensed in additional states as required.
Professional sales training or certifications valued
Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products, coverages, and rating methodologies
Extensive knowledge of GuideStone P&C insurance options, the legal and compliance requirement for such plans, how they operate, the strengths and weaknesses of the plans and how they relate to competitors’ products and services preferred.
Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales quotas
Demonstrated capability to actively seek out and secure sales using methods such as cold calling, networking, and business development activities.
Excellent presentation and negotiation skills, both verbally and written, with comfort in front of the client and senior sales leaders
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Applied Epic or similar AMS preferred; CRM platform (Dynamics) proficiency for client communication and activity tracking.
Strong organizational and time management abilities
High energy, self-motivated individual with strong work ethic
Strategic prospecting and networking with ability to build C-suite and/or small business relationships
Detail-oriented and committed to necessary process and documentation
Ability to travel for client meetings, conferences, and educational events (up to 25%)
