The Analyst and Trader - Fund Operations is responsible for operational tasks of the mutual fund business, specifically GuideStone Funds, including performance reporting, daily trading, liquidity management, preparing board meeting materials, regulatory filings, and updating marketing content such as web materials.

 

What You'll Do

  • Execute daily cash desk operations, including review of required reports and coordination with service providers.

  • Prepare and analyze daily reports to guide trades within funds‑of‑funds strategies and determine trades to maintain alignment with each fund’s established liquidity targets and investment parameters.

  • Coordinate with the Portfolio Manager to run scenario analyses, recommend trades and enter orders based on desired fund positioning targets.

  • Provide allocation recommendations to the Portfolio Manager and coordinate with sub‑advisers on subscriptions and redemptions.

  • Contribute to internal committee reporting, including liquidity oversight and risk management, and participate in meetings, as required.

  • Produce and maintain daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual Fund performance reports, including benchmarks and regulatory reporting.

  • Responsible for updates to fact sheets, website content, annual 15(c) performance materials and certain regulatory filings.

  • Collaborate on board meeting materials and monthly reporting with Finance &Accounting and Risk Management, as needed.

  • Assist with oversight and due diligence of third‑party service providers, including invoice review and service‑level monitoring.

  • Maintain records per regulatory requirements and continuously enhance desktop procedures to improve efficiency.

  • Cooperate with all areas within Investments and maintain professional relationships and interaction with other departments within GuideStone Financial Resources.

  • Perform additional duties and provide overtime support, as required, to meet organizational objectives.

 

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.

  • Master’s degree, optional.

  • Two years or less experience in the investment industry, highly preferred.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Strong self-starter that is eager to learn about the investment and/or mutual fund industry and a desire to excel – not afraid to tackle the unknown and willingness to be coached.

  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing to investment managers, internal staff, investment consultants and third-party vendors.

  • Outstanding organization and ability to adhere to deadlines.

  • Ability to develop well thought-out conclusions/recommendations which take into consideration the best interests of the department, organization and/or shareholders.

  • Thorough understanding of various investment vehicles, strategies and terminology.

  • Basic knowledge of mutual fund organizational structure, service provider roles and responsibilities, Investment Company Act of 1940, Securities Act of 1933 and Investment Advisers Act of 1940

  • Proficient skills in MS Office, specifically Microsoft Excel, StyleADVISOR, Morningstar Direct, FactSet, Python and appropriate GuideStone system applications.

  • Must have complete confidentiality regarding GuideStone business matters, both internally and externally.
